TRAKTIONSSYSTEME AUSTRIA PRESENTS ITS BUSINESS MODEL AS A LEADING ENTERPRISE IN LEAN MANAGEMENT
StEP-Up, Austria‘s leading platform for sustainably increasing the competitiveness of manufacturing companies, regularly offers its member firms the opportunity to participate in cross-industry Lean Circles. This enables them to initiate improvements and thus generate added value for their own company.
Over a period of 1.5 years, the participating enterprises meet every 3 months alternately at the respective business locations to exchange experiences on defined topics in the fields of ‘Operational Excellence – Smart Factory – Green Factory’. Following each session, the company-specific approach to the topics, the presentation and the lecture, as well as the benefits for the companies are evaluated with points.
Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) participated in the last Lean Circle together with other renowned companied companies that manufacture in Austria. After TSA’s outstanding contribution to the topic ‚Shopfloor Management‘ and the resulting evaluation of the participants, the prize for the best Leading Enterprise in Lean Management 2021/22 was awarded. At the closing Best Practice Conference at the University for Continuing Education in Krems, our colleagues Markus Müller (Head of Production Technology & Lean Management) and Martin Tschernach (Lean Production Manager) proudly accepted the award.
The Lean Management Award was the deciding factor for TechnoKontakte to get in contact with TSA. The Agency offers a training concept for specialists and managers that was developed and initiated with the Ministry of Economics. Traktionssysteme Austria applied for this best-practice seminar series, and our presenter trio today hosted the topic ‚Success with strategy-oriented Production Roadmap‘ to 15 participants.
Presenters (LTR):
- Danijel Cvijanovic, Head of Production
- Markus Müller, Head of Production Technology & Lean Management
- Christoph Biegler, Strategic Factory Development & Industry 4.0
The company site in Wiener Neudorf was established more than 60 years ago. For several years now, TSA has been undergoing a very active and intensive change. Significant volume increases on the existing production space in a historically developed plant require rapid action in all areas. One of the main topics in today’s seminar was the systematic development from batch style manufacturing to flow-oriented production at TSA.
The cornerstones of our Production Roadmap and our corporate strategy are the 4 core areas Lean Management, Production Layout, Automation and Digitalization/Industry 4.0. A special highlight of today’s event was the tour through our manufacturing hall. With an investment of 3 million euros, stator and rotor production have been optimized since 2020 in an extensive reconstruction phase which was performed similar to an open-heart surgery as the manufacturing processes never stopped.
In the next few years, another 10 million euros in expansion and replacement investments will be implemented to keep the site in Wiener Neudorf competitive and attractive in the long run.
