Hyundai Rotem chooses TSA for trams in Izmir and Antalya
South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyunday Rotem selected TSA as the supplier of the traction motors for the new 100% low-floor trams in Izmir and Antalya (Turkey). The vehicles are manufactured locally in Adapazari by Eurotem, a joint enterprise between Hyunday Rotem and the Turkish company Tüvasas. The first vehicles are about to be delivered soon.
Two new lines will be opened in Izmir: Konak Line and Karsiyaka Line. In Antalya the Antray Light Rail route was extended to the airport on the occasion of the Expo 2016.The newly developed low-floor vehicle by Hyundai Rotem has an energy storage for the operation along off-wire route sections. TSA´s compact motors are optimized for this concept.
