New Intercity high-speed train DART with TSA motors
For the first time the Polish rail operator PKP Intercity has ordered 20 new high-speed electric EMU trains called DART by PESA Bydgoszcz S.A. The newly developed vehicle DART is characterized by its aerodynamic shape and modern design. Composite materials and high-strenght steel used in the construction allow a lighter vehicle structure.
Due to the reliability of its EMU motors, Traktionssysteme Austria was selected as the supplier of the DART vehicles. The trains can easily reach an operating top speed of 160 km/h with six 400 kW motors per vehicle. At a later stage the DART series will be capable of reaching a top speed of 200 km/h.
