Trains modernized with TSA motors
Traktionssysteme Austria and the spanish inverter manufacturer INGETEAM Traction S.A. from Bilbao have developed a technical solution for the modernization of 12 two-unit EMU trains. The vehicles were originally equipped with direct current technology and were used for the local public transport in northern Spain by the railway operator FEVE (Ferrocarriles de Via Estrecha).
After the takeover by the Spanish railway company RENFE, the modernization process was continued. TSA will deliver 50 type TMF 45-27-4 AC traction motors. These axle-hung motors will be optimally adapted to the existing bogie. The modernization process will be completed in the course of 2015.
